Australian building products company CSR has got permission from the Commerce Commission to buy Ross Roofing, Rosscrete Roofing Tiles and the Ross Brick and Pavers businesses in New Zealand.
The privately owned Ross companies make concrete roofing tiles, sell and distribute clay bricks, and install tiles in the Auckland and Waikato regions.
CSR operates throughout New Zealand with its Monier brand, the competition regulator said in a statement.
Commerce Commission chairwoman Paula Rebstock said the commission was satisfied that the proposed acquisition would not have, or would not be likely to have, the effect of substantially lessening competition in any of the relevant markets.
